Creating Commuter Trip Plans - Notes

  • Commuter Trip Plans take longer to process than other Trip Planner queries. Expect a brief delay.
  • Your results may not include trips at certain times. You see -- instead of a time in the results table when that happens. Usually it occurs because of limited service at certain times or for certain locations.
  • One or more of the Commuter Trip Plans may be identical. That happens when frequency of service doesn't allow a different option for an earlier or later trip.
  • Service changes can affect the validity of Commuter Trip Plans. Be alert for upcoming service changes and re-run your Commuter Trip Plans to check for changes. Service change information is usually available in the Trip Planner at least one week before the service change date. Availability is announced in Trip Planner Notices in the navigation bar on the left of the page.
  • Reroutes and disruptions can affect your commute, but won't be reflected in Commuter Trip Plans. Similarly, transit service is different on holidays and your commute might be affected. Check Metro Online for information about reroutes, holidays, and other service exceptions. Watch for Rider Alerts posted at the bus stops you use.
  • In most browsers the results are shown without extra graphics, so they are easy to print. For a smaller file size, or if your browser shows the Metro Online header and the left-side navigation bar, you might want to print the .TXT file instead. The .TXT file is a link on the results page - see the Download section. The .TXT file is also easiest to insert into an e-mail message.
